MEMBERS of Parliament who have previously completed their Covid-19 vaccination course will be given booster shots beginning tomorrow, Mohd Rashid Hasnon said.
“As announced by the Ministry of Health earlier, this is to optimise Covid-19 vaccination protection,” the Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker said in Parliament today.
“As MPs are exposed to many constituents, the booster shots can help protect them.”
He said that the booster shots will be administered in the Parliament banquet hall at 9.30am.
“MPs can contact the Parliament clinic to schedule their shots,” said the Batu Pahat MP.
Malaysia began dispensing Covid-19 booster shots to frontliners and residents aged 60 and above on October 13.
Meanwhile, Parliament will have a shortened session on Wednesday, on the eve of Deepavali.
“As Deepavali falls on Thursday, the government has proposed to shorten Wednesday’s meeting from 10am to 2pm only.
“This is to allow MPs to go back to their constituencies for the celebrations,” said Rashid. – November 1, 2021.
