THE country’s Covid-19 fatalities have now passed the 29,000 mark with 70 deaths reported as of midnight.

A total of 29,045 people have died of Covid-19 in Malaysia since March 17, 2020.

All of the 70 deaths reported were backlog cases as all of the fatalities had taken place before November 2.

According to data from the Health Ministry’s GitHub raw data repository, 15 people were pronounced dead on arrival.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19 after investigation.

Sarawak continued to log the highest number of deaths at 18, followed by Kelantan and Selangor with 11 each.

Other states and federal territories that reported new deaths yesterday were Johor (4), Kedah (6), Pahang (1), Perak (5), Penang (8), Sabah (4), Terengganu (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

Malacca, Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Labuan and Putrajaya did not report deaths.

The national average per population of one million is 20 deaths, with Sarawak having the highest with 52 fatalities per million people. – November 3, 2021.
