MALAYSIA reported 5,291 new Covid-19 cases as of noon today, a slight increase from yesterday’s 5,071, Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

With the new cases, the country’s cumulative number of cases is now at 2,486,630.

The breakdown of cases according to states will be uploaded to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow website after midnight.

On the vaccination rate, some 24.56 million people or 75.2% of the country’s population have now completed their Covid-19 inoculation.

According to data on the CovidNow website, 7.33 million people remain unvaccinated, as of yesterday.

Malaysia is aiming to fully inoculate 80% of its population by February 2022.

As for the adult population, 95.7% or 22.39 million people have completed their Covid-19 vaccination while 491,450 are partially vaccinated.

Meanwhile, 2.17 million adolescents aged between 12 and 17 years old have also been fully vaccinated with the double-shot Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. This is equivalent to 69% of the adolescent population. – November 3, 2021.
