MALAYSIA logged 47 new Covid-19 deaths yesterday, with all being backlog cases that occurred before November 4, the Ministry of Health said.

The country has now recorded 29,202 deaths since the start of the epidemic.

According to data from the Health Ministry’s GitHub raw data repository, four were dead on arrival at hospitals.

The daily death figure is the total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19 after investigation.

Sarawak logged the highest number of deaths for the sixth consecutive day at 16.

Other states and territories that reported new deaths yesterday were Johor (6), Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (5), Terengganu (4), Kedah (3), Kelantan, Pahang and Perak (2), and Malacca and Sabah (1). No deaths were recorded in Negri Sembilan, Perlis, Penang, Labuan and Putrajaya.

The national average for coronavirus deaths stands at 18 per population of one million, with Sarawak topping the chart at 48 deaths per million people. – November 6, 2021.
