More Covid-19 recoveries than fresh cases

COVID-19 recoveries outnumbered new cases today, with 5,190 people cleared of the coronavirus as at noon, Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
The new recoveries put the cumulative total to 2,412,395.
Meanwhile, 4,343 people tested positive for Covid-19, taking the total number of infections to date to 2,506,309.
Of new infections, only 68 cases were in advanced stages of infection in Categories 3, 4 and 5, while 4,275 were in Category 1 (asymptomatic) and 2 (mildly symptomatic).
On the Covid-19 load at healthcare facilities, there were 554 active cases at intensive care units in hospitals nationwide, with 272 of them on respiratory support.
Of the 554 cases, 518 have been confirmed for the coronavirus whereas 36 are probable cases.
Noor Hisham also reported seven new Covid-19 clusters. With this, the total number of active clusters of infection in the country now stood at 325. – November 7, 2021.
