ENERGY and Natural Resources Minister Takiyuddin Hassan, who did not attend Dewan Rakyat today, is the latest minister to test positive for Covid-19.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar told the House he will be answering a question on behalf of Takiyuddin.
“Apologies, Speaker, I am representing the minister because the minister is down with Covid-19. I was told to take over the task of responding to this important question,” the Santubong MP said.
The Malaysian Insight have reached out to Takiyuddin’s aide for confirmation.
According to the Dewan Rakyat’s order of business, Takiyuddin was to respond to a question from Che Alias Hamid (Kemaman-PAS) on the state’s efforts to save the critically endangered Malayan tiger from going extinct.
On September 14, it was reported that Takiyuddin was undergoing home quarantine after being identified as a close contact of a positive case.
