HOSPITAL admissions for Covid-19 increased to 1,132 yesterday from 1,081 the day before, the CovidNow website said today.

Hospital bed utilisation rate was at 67.4%.

The hospital admission rate indicates the severity of the coronavirus outbreak. Hospital utilisation includes bed usage as well as the number of patients in intensive care and on ventilators

The Klang Valley had the most daily admissions at 305.

Other states that reported new admissions are Selangor with 259, Johor (223), Kedah(41), Kelantan (105), Malacca (33), Negri Sembilan(38), Pahang (43), Perak (54), Perlis(4), Penang (25), Sabah (100), Sarawak (103), Terengganu (58), Kuala Lumpur (27), and Putrajaya (19). 

Labuan was the only state to report zero hospital admissions.

As for bed utilisation rate, Malacca recorded the highest with 87.1% of beds occupied. The utilisation rate for ventilators stood at 39.5% and ICUs, 64.9%.

There were 67,986 active Covid-19 cases in Malaysia as of last night. Among these, 549 patients were in ICU, 274 of them on ventilator support.

Meanwhile, 54,359 patients were in home quarantine, 7,488 in low-risk quarantine centres and 5,590 were hospitalised.

Selangor logged the highest number of new cases yesterday with 968 cases. 

Other states that recorded new cases are Kelantan (683), Sabah (543), Johor (374), Kedah (472), Pahang (356), Penang (246), Sarawak (292), Perak (228), Terengganu (202), Sabah (485), Sarawak (147), Terengganu (208), Kuala Lumpur (208), Malacca (291), Negri Sembilan (132), Putrajaya (70), Perlis (13), and Labuan (10). – November 23, 2021.
