A TOTAL of 1,181 Covid-19 patients were hospitalised yesterday, a reduction from 1,213 admissions the day before, the Health Ministry said.

The hospital utilisation rate stands at 70.5%, of which only 39.4% are Covid-19-related cases.

The Klang Valley reported 359 admissions, a dip from 385 admissions the day before. Bed utilisation in the region stood at 62.7%.

Selangor reported 299 admissions, Kuala Lumpur (40) and Putrajaya (20).

Other states that reported new admissions were Johor with 209, Kedah (54), Kelantan (108), Malacca (23), Negri Sembilan (44), Pahang (36), Perak (61), Perlis (11), Penang (29), Sabah (123), Sarawak (70) and Terengganu (54).

Labuan reported zero admissions.

The country also reported 6,144 Covid-19 cases yesterday – a hike from the previous day’s 5,755 cases and the highest in five days.

The Klang Valley accounted for 2,145 of the cases.

Selangor reported the highest number of cases at 1,650, Kuala Lumpur (452) and Putrajaya (43).

Other states that reported cases are Johor (605), Kedah (442), Kelantan (511), Malacca (291), Negri Sembilan (180), Pahang (426), Perak (280), Perlis (46), Penang (263), Sabah (513), Sarawak (171), Terengganu (233) and Labuan (38).

There are currently 68,755 active cases in the country. Of which 55,278 (80.4%) are under home quarantine, 7,422 (10.8%) in a government quarantine centre while 5,539 (8.1%) are hospitalised.

Meanwhile, 516 individuals are in the intensive care unit, with 272 on respiratory support. – November 26, 2021.
