MALAYSIA yesterday recorded 29 Covid-19 deaths as of midnight, eight of which were classified dead on arrival, the Health Ministry said.

This brings the death toll from the coronavirus to 30,908.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases only just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

According to the ministry’s Github raw data repository, Terengganu logged the most deaths at five.

There were four deaths each in Negri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur; three each in Kelantan, Sabah, Sarawak and Selangor; and Kedah, Pahang, Perlis and Penang recording one each.

No new deaths was reported in Perak, Malacca, Johor, Putrajaya and Labuan.

The Covid-19 fatality rate stands at 0.8%. – December 14, 2021.
