Malaysia logs 44 new Covid-19 deaths

MALAYSIA reported 44 fresh coronavirus fatalities yesterday, of which 10 were brought in dead, said the Health Ministry (MOH).
The new number brings the death toll to 31,265.
The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases just confirmed by health authorities to be due to Covid-19.
MOH’s GitHub raw data repository revealed that Perak reported the most deaths yesterday with 14, followed by Penang (7), Selangor (6), Terengganu (4), Kuala Lumpur (4), Kelantan (3) and Pahang (2).
Kedah, Negri Sembilan, Johor and Sabah each reported one fatality, while Perlis, Malacca, Labuan and Sarawak reported none.
The country’s fatality rate remained at 0.7% as of yesterday, with the national average of deaths due to Covid-19 at 11 per population of one million. – December 24, 2021.
