Malaysia posts 25 new Covid-19 deaths

TWENTY-FIVE people were yesterday reported to have died of Covid-19, four of whom were dead on arrival, the Health Ministry said.

This brought the coronavirus toll to 31,315.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of people who have died on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

The ministry’s GitHub raw data repository showed Selangor reported the highest number of deaths at six.

Perak reported four deaths, Johor and Penang three deaths each, and Kelantan, Pahang, and Kuala Lumpur two deaths each.

One death each was reported in Negri Sembilan, Perlis and Terengganu.

The Covid-19 fatality rate remained constant at 0.8% yesterday. The national average for coronavirus deaths stood at 11 per million people. –  December 26, 2021.
