MALAYSIA reported 11 new Covid-19 deaths yesterday, including two that were classified as dead on arrival.

The new fatalities are the lowest since April 2021.

All of the deaths were backlog cases, the GitHub raw data repository showed.

These took the virus death toll to 31,655.

The daily death figure is the total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

Selangor reported the most deaths at six, followed by Kelantan, Perak, Sabah, and Terengganu with one each.

No new deaths were reported in the others states and territories.

The virus fatality rate is currently at 0.7% while the 14-day average for deaths by infection stood at eight per million people. – January 9, 2022.
