Malaysia reports 23 new Covid deaths, all backlog

MALAYSIA reported 23 fresh Covid-19 fatalities yesterday, of which four were dead on arrival.
The deaths were backlog cases, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub raw data repository.
The country now has a coronavirus death toll of 31,678.
The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported deaths on the day plus backlog cases just confirmed by health authorities to be due to Covid-19.
Terengganu reported the most fatalities with eight, followed by Kedah (4), Kelantan (3) and Perak (2), while Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Malacca, Johor and Sabah each reported one.
Perlis, Pahang, Negri Sembilan, Putrajaya, Labuan and Sarawak did not report any death.
The Covid-19 death rate stands at 0.7%, and the 14-day average for deaths by infection stands at seven per million people. – January 10, 2022.
