A SENIOR shariah judge has lodged a police report against a married woman who has accused him of sexually harassing her in her home in 2020, police confirmed today.

Ampang district police chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak told The Malaysian Insight that the judge had made the report a few days after the woman had filed hers.

“The judge claims that the woman has made a false report against him. We are still investigating this matter,” he said.

It was reported yesterday that the woman in her report has claimed that the incident occurred in August 2020 when she was at home with her bed-ridden husband. Her husband has since died.

The 57-year-old woman claimed that the judge had visited her family home at close to midnight.

The judge is alleged to have asked the woman for permission to use her bedroom to perform his prayers.

The man stayed in the bedroom for a long time and when the woman entered her room to check, he was lying naked on her bed.

The man left her home at about 3am, telling the woman she had strong faith despite his actions.

Farouk was also reported as saying in news portal The Vibes today that the police will be interviewing several more witnesses before wrapping up their investigation.

“We have received instructions from Bukit Aman to investigate further, so there are two or three more things that need to be done before we can resubmit the investigation papers to the deputy public prosecutor,” he was quoted as saying.

“We are not sure when we will be able to complete the investigation. There are several witnesses we are looking to interview and they have also asked for different timings, so it’s hard for me to explain in further detail.” – January 12, 2022.
