MALAYSIA is seeing a daily decrease in Covid-19 deaths as infections drop.

The Health Ministry yesterday reported 14 virus-linked fatalities.

The death toll stood at 31,882.

The daily death figure is the sum total of the number of reported fatalities on the day plus cases just confirmed by the health authorities to be due to Covid-19.

New coronavirus deaths were reported in Kedah (2), Perak (2), Johor (2), Selangor (2), Terengganu (2), Malacca (1), Pahang (1), Sabah (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).

Negri Sembilan, Penang, Putrajaya, Labuan, Sarawak, Kelantan and Perlis did not report any coronavirus-linked deaths.

The Covid-19 mortality rate was at 0.5% while the national average for deaths by infection was five per one million people. – January 23, 2022.
