The number of active cases has been on the rise for the past few weeks as new infections outnumber recoveries, attributed by health authorities to the more transmissible Omicron variant.

Ventilator utilisation, however declined from 33.8% to 33%.

Intensive care unit occupancy also increased from 50.7%, to 52.1% with Covid patients accounting for 16.3% of usage.
