Zahid mocks Muda over recent blunders

UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has mocked youth-based party Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda), saying all its recent blunders stemmed from “Umno’s greed for power”.
In a post on Facebook, Zahid took aim at Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who recently criticised other members of the opposition coalition and for embracing party-hoppers.
“Because Umno is power crazy, that is why Muda stabbed the back of the Tiram (state assemblyman) from PKR,” he wrote.
“Because Umno is power crazy, that is why Muda condemned all allies of Pakatan Harapan (DAP and Amanah), Perikatan Nasional (Bersatu, PAS and Barisan Nasional), and BN as equally corrupt and corrupt practitioners.”
Syed Saddiq had said the Indian community in Ulu Tiram was unhappy with the elected representative there and he accused the assemblyman of not looking after the people’s welfare and of being irresponsible.
He said the people there were sick of this and wanted change.
He subsequently apologised for having undermined the work and responsibilities of S. Gopalakrishnan.
Zahid also noted that Muda had blamed Umno for being at fault in Sarawak when it was not even involved in the state elections.
He also accused Muda of contesting in six “easy” seats in the upcoming Johor state elections to reduce Pakatan Harapan’s share.
The Bagan Datuk MP said despite condemning party-hoppers, Muda too had taken on Nurainie Haziqah Shafii as its central executive committee member.
Nurainie was previously with PKR and Bersatu.
“All the breach of principles, backstabbing, accusations and criticism that took place between Muda, PKR, PH, and all other parties, is because Umno is power crazy.
“Umno is great. Congratulations,” Zahid said sarcastically. – February 13, 2022.
