1,894 new Covid cases, 8 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded 1,894 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, bringing the cumulative number of cases to 4,558,558, the Health Ministry reported.
The CovidNow website showed that Selangor recorded the highest number of daily cases with 615, followed by Kuala Lumpur (450) and Penang (169).
Other states and federal territories with new infections were Negri Sembilan (124), Sabah (123), Perak (104), Johor (72), Malacca (56), Kedah (49), Sarawak (34), Pahang (30), Terengganu (30), Kelantan (22), Perlis (11), Putrajaya (4) and Labuan (1)
The Health Ministry’s GitHub logged eight deaths yesterday, of of which was dead on arrival.
The deaths were reported in Johor (3), Kedah (1), Negri Sembilan (1), Perak (1), Penang (1) and Selangor (1).
Since the pandemic broke out in 2020, Malaysia has registered 35,754 Covid-19 deaths.
The fatality rate stood at 0.2% and the cumulative fatality rate, at 0.8%. – June 28, 2022.
