2,773 new Covid cases, 6 deaths

NEW Covid-19 cases rose yesterday to 2,773 compared with 2,605 cases the day before, the Health Ministry reported. 

The fresh infections bring the cumulative number of cases to 4,568,828.

The CovidNow website shows that Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 884 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (793) and Perak (209).

Other states and federal territories that reported infections were Negri Sembilan (155), Penang (138), Sabah (135), Malacca (110), Putrajaya (97), Johor (60)
Pahang (60), Sarawak (47), Kedah (35), Kelantan (24), Terengganu (17), Perlis (5) and Labuan (4).

Meanwhile, the ministry’s GitHub logged six deaths yesterday.

These deaths were reported in Perak (2), Penang (2), Johor (1) and Negri Sembilan (1).

Since the pandemic struck in March 2020, Malaysia has recorded 35,771 Covid-19 deaths.

The fatality rate stood at 0.2% and the cumulative fatality rate, 0.8%. – July 2, 2022.
