EMPLOYERS who have paid recruitment fees to employ Bangladeshi workers can now apply for confirmation at the Bangladeshi High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, the Human Resources Ministry said.

“The technical issues faced previously for the process of hiring Bangladeshi workers have been addressed,” it said in a statement today.

Last month, minister M. Saravanan said 25 recruitment companies in Bangladesh have been picked to safeguard workers’ welfare.

“Accreditation of the 25 companies to recruit workers from Bangladesh was done to prevent monopolistic practices as well as to safeguard the welfare and livelihood of the workers,” he said.

He also refuted allegations of the involvement of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed in the selection of the companies, saying this is totally false and unfounded.

“In efforts to improve accessibility to potential workers and to ensure better governance of the recruitment process, the Human Resources Ministry has selected the 25 companies from a list of 1,520 provided by Bangladesh’s Manpower Ministry,” he said. – July 14, 2022.
