MALAYSIA reported 3,213 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, the Health Ministry reported.

The CovidNow website showed that there were eight deaths, with two classified as dead on arrival.

Active cases now stand at 44,664, while the virus has claimed the lives of 35,977 people.

Kuala Lumpur logged the highest number of infections at 1,006, followed by Selangor (865) and Sabah (241).

Perak reported 224 cases, Penang (171), Negri Sembilan (153), Kedah (130), Johor (114), Malacca (90), Putrajaya (59), Sarawak (52), Pahang (34), Terengganu (23), Perlis (6) and Labuan (3).

The GitHub database showed that three deaths were reported in Perak, two in Johor, and one each in Kedah, Negri Sembilan and Kuala Lumpur.

There are currently 1,510 Covid-19 hospitalisations, with 21 people in intensive care units, while 33 people are on ventilators. – August 2, 2022.
