A DISRUPTION to the Kelana Jaya LRT line train service in Kuala Lumpur – the second in a month – left commuter fuming.

RapidKL confirmed that a train ran into technical problems last night at the KL Sentral station.

“Train 59 was experiencing technical difficulties at the KL Sentral station heading towards Putra Heights,” it said on Facebook

Kelana Jaya LRT line commuters took to social media to vent their frustration over long wait times and slow travel.

Twitter user @syahirjared said RapidKL is never prepared for major events in the city.

“During the National Day parade there were some failure with the LRT and today another failure after (the) 2022 FA Cup final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Raymon Soosai on Facebook called for an investigation into the Kelana Jaya LRT line to find out why it was always breaking down.

“If you compare it with the Ampang line, this Kelana Jaya line breaks down more frequently to a point there’s always something every month,” he said.

A Facebook user by the name of Lily Le Belle said police at the station did not know what to do when the train broke down last night.

“When the commuters complained to the police about the delay, they were just laughing and not giving an answer,” she said

Commuter Madeline Ho asked to be reimbursed for the Grab ride she was forced to take.

“I was stranded at the station from 9pm until 12am, hence I took the Grab which cost me RM16.

Martin Wai said RapidKL has failed to fulfil its promise to improve its system.

“They promise all the time but it’s been years and we still face the same problem frequently.

Earlier this month, the Kelana Jaya LRT line train service was delayed due to technical problems near the Universiti station heading to Putra Heights. Commuters were forced to disembark and walk along the track to the station platform. – September 11, 2022.
