PAKATAN Harapan (PH) has only one commander-in-chief and that is Anwar Ibrahim who has been consistent in his fight for all races, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke said.

He said that DAP has taken a stand to support the opposition leader not because he is “Anwar” but because he is principled and consistent in the coalition’s struggle.

“For more than 20 years he has been fighting corruption. We want ‘reformasi’ not only in the country, but for whole government.

“Another important factor for DAP is that Anwar consistently fights for the politics of all races in Malaysia,” he said at the PH convention in Ipoh tonight.

Loke said that PH is a coalition that is fighting to protect all races in the country.

He said that the next one month is crucial if PH were to wrest back Putrajaya.

“If we are to succeed, I call on all members from now until November 19 to unite and put our differences aside.

“We have to come together with one aim, which is to win Putrajaya. DAP wants to win Penang, too, but we want to win Putrajaya even more.”

Today, the Election Commission set November 19 as polling day for the 2022 general election.

Nomination day is on November 5 and early polling will be held on November 15.

Pahang, Perlis, and Perak will also be holding their state polls on the same dates.

Loke said in order to win general election, PH has to move as a team and regain the mandate of the people so it can recapture Putrajaya.

“If in 2018 we did it, why can’t we do it in November 2022. We call for all parties in the coalition who are PKR, Amanah and Upko to fight and win one goal.

“That is defeat Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional so that PH is the winner.” – October 20, 2022.
