PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang today urged the police to immediately investigate all parties that had issued statements insulting Islam.

He said the police must be proactive in acting against these perpetrators just as how they were in bringing him in for questioning.

He was earlier present at the Sentul district police headquarters over his remarks linking Pakatan Harapan (PH) with communist and anti-God beliefs in a ceremony in Temerloh, Pahang, on November 8.

One of the police reports against him was made by Kepong member of parliament Lim Lip Eng on November 10.

“I was called in for my statement to be recorded and cooperated fully with the police in relation to several police reports that were made against me. I explained the several questions that were asked.

“This new government is very proactive towards me, but I told the police that they must also investigate parties that touch Islam. We will wait and see later,” he told reporters.

He also said that he was ready to face court action regarding the investigation on him.

“I’m ready for further action, whether it’s going to court or something like that… now it’s my turn to be investigated.

“I have given full cooperation to the police following several police reports made on me and I await further action,” he said.

His lawyer Wan Rohaimi Wan Daud said the case was being investigated under Section 505 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 due to improper use of telecommunications services and networks.

“He has just finished giving his statement to the police and I am not sure how many reports were made against him.” – December 5, 2022.
