UMNO has to expel traitors from its ranks if it does not want to be ruined by these people, said Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki. 

The Umno Youth leader said the ‘traitors’ are those who attacked the party and its president during the general election. 

“Pemuda is firm in wanting these traitors out. We cannot allow them to continue destroying the party,” he said in his keynote address at the youth wing’s annual general meeting at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur today. 

However, he did not name anyone in his speech.

Asyraf said several party leaders had used the general election as an excuse to attack the party.

He said these leaders, who have benefited from the party for years, had turned on it on the campaign trail, and some publicly declared that voting them in as lawmakers would help them reform the party.

The actions of these candidates resulted in their defeat, not more ballots for the Umno, said Asyraf, as their declarations signalled a divided party, repelling potential voters. – January 12, 2023.
