MALAYSIAN police is working with Indonesian police to nab Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Yunos and bring him back here, Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said.

“I was informed that he is still in Indonesia. We have ascertained the location.

“(There is) good cooperation from the Indonesian police. They are planning to arrest (and extradite) him to Malaysia,” Muhyiddin told reporters at a Hari Raya open house at Bukit Aman this afternoon.

On a separate note, Muhyiddin said he had not been briefed about former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman’s whereabouts.

Jamal ran away from the hospital as he was supposed to complete a bailout on May 25.

A warrant of arrest was issued against the Red Shirts leader earlier this month.

He has been charged for causing a public nuisance for smashing beer bottles in front of the Selangor state secretariat building.

He is also being investigated for a photograph of him possessing weapons.

Previously denying that he was on the run, Jamal made an about-turn and boasted to the media via a WhatsApp video last week of successfully evading the authorities so far.

“Do not worry about getting caught, remanded, and charged. I have had dozens of charges. No worries!

“But until now, I cannot be detected on radar. Only a person like this, who while hemmed in or even remanded, can get away, should be (elected) leader,” he said.

Jamal lost in the Umno Youth elections, winning only two votes. – June 26, 2018.
