A TOP Bursa Malaysia executive, who was splashed with acid on Tuesday, has been transferred to another private medical centre for better security.
The Malaysian Insight went to Tung Shin Hospital, where the victim first received treatment, this morning, and was informed that he has been transferred due to security and privacy reasons.
Dang Wangi deputy district police chief Superintendent Rudy Abdullah said two men, wearing black helmets and jackets, on a motorcycle had broken a window of the victim’s car and splashed acid on him about 6.35pm on Tuesday.
Witnesses to the attack, near Olympia Tower in Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur, then rushed the man to Tung Shin Hospital.
He suffered between 12% and 20% burns, but is now in stable condition.
Police are investigating the case under Section 326 of the Penal Code, for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
A police source told theSun that the victim had lodged two reports prior to the attack.
“We are still ascertaining whether the old cases are linked to the new one.
“At the end of last year, he lodged a report over his car being vandalised, and earlier this year, he received a threatening phone call.
“The victim believes that both cases were related to his work.” – July 12, 2018.
