PKR’S reformasi slogan “lawan tetap lawan” was co-opted by Barisan Nasional at a ceramah for the Sg Kandis by-election yesterday.
Umno secretary-general Annuar Musa took the cue from former PKR leader N. Gobalakrishnan during his speech.
“I have never entered a lock-up like (former ISA detainee) Gobalakrishnan but we don’t know tomorrow. Maybe I will get the training.
Earlier, Gobalakrishnan recounted that he was detained under the Internal Security Act with Barisan Nasional’s Sg Kandis candidate Lokman Noor Adam during Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s first stint as prime minister.
“I called him (Dr Mahathir) mahazalim and mahafiraun at a ceramah last night, this afternoon, I received a call from SB (special branch).
“We don’t have to fear anybody. We will fight. Lawan tetap lawan,” said the former PKR lawmaker who has since re-joined MIC, a BN component party.
He said Dr Mahathir was a cruel leader while scandal-plagued former prime minister Najib Razak “is a gift to Malaysia”.
“When I asked Pekan (Najib) in the Dewan Rakyat why Tamil schools weren’t given allocations in 2009, two days later, an officer told me that RM100 million was allocated to Tamil schools in the budget,” said Gobalakrishnan.
A DVD and CD on Najib were also distributed to the audience during the ceramah.
Lokman, a former aide of Najib and strategic communication director at the Finance Ministry, is facing Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni (PKR) and K. Murthy (independent) in the Sg Kandis by-election tomorrow. – August 3, 2018.
