INCOMING PKR president Anwar Ibrahim dismissed talk that he was unfit to lead the party due to his recent health problems.

“This is just a shoulder problem. There are people who are mentally sick and have heart or kidney problems that are more serious,” said Anwar jokingly at a press conference at PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.

Anwar had an operation to treat his shoulder and back in Istanbul, Turkey last month.

He was hospitalised in June for his hurting shoulder and back at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.

“I’ll be doing my physiotherapy diligently,” said Anwar.

He said outgoing PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail will carry out her party duties until the PKR congress in November. – August 9, 2018.
