UMNO thugs should not have responded to an invitation to the Nothing To Hide 2.0 forum with its fists, Bersatu Youth (Armada) chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said today after a fracas broke out between youths from both parties at the Putra World Trade Centre.

An Armada delegation, numbering about 30, attempted to present the invitation to the forum to Prime Minister Najib Razak at the Umno headquarters but was confronted by a group of about 100 youths, said to be from Umno Youth.

The groups were ordered to disperse by police.

Armada information chief Ashraf Mustaqim alleged he was punched in the fracas during the incident.

“Gangster culture and Umno can no longer be separated, they are one and the same. That’s why they are afraid of answering questions.

“They are afraid of debates because their answers are invariably fists and verbal abuse.

“Don’t answer with punches, answer with words. See you at Nothing To Hide 2.0,” Syed Saddiq told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.

The forum organised by Armada will be held on August 13 and is a platform to answer questions raised by the people on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

Pakatan Harapan chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad had said he would attend the forum. – July 25, 2017.
