PRIME Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad was today amazed by the unparalleled luxury of the RM1 billion Equanimity, docked at Port Klang.

“Very luxurious… super luxurious. I’ve been on yachts before but nothing like this. Everything is superb, and it’s bought with stolen money by crooks,” Dr Mahathir said in Port Klang, after viewing the ship.

The super yacht allegedly bought with stolen 1MDB funds has been docked at Boustead Cruise Centre since Tuesday.

He said the ship would not be open for public viewing for the sake of keeping it in good condition.

“We have taken pictures, we will show you what it’s like. It has nice lifts for old people like me. You can’t see the cables. The furniture I think is special (made) for this boat, I’ve never seen furniture like this anywhere else.

“The rooms are fantastic, especially the master bedroom where you can lie in bed and look at the sky. There is real sky light. If it’s too hot you can close it.

“Everything you can think of is found there, and many things you don’t think of are also there.”

Dr Mahathir was accompanied on the tour by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu and his deputy Liew Chin Tong, Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun, Defence Forces chie,f General Zulkifli Zainal Abidin and Navy chief Admiral Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin.

“Everything is there: gymnasium, sauna… everything you think you should have is there,” said Dr Mahathir. – August 11, 2018.
