THE Umno youths who were involved in a scuffle with those from Bersatu should have been more gentlemanly as the invitation for Prime Minister Najib Razak to debate with Dr Mahathir Mohamad was not a threat, said Muhyiddin Yassin.

“They (Umno youths) should have been more open, and treat this as a challenge. It’s an invitation, not a threat,” said the Bersatu president in a press conference before the parliamentary sitting this morning.

“I hope it (scuffle) will never happen again.”

Yesterday, a fracas broke out between youths from both parties at the Putra World Trade Centre after those from Umno behaved like thugs following the invitation to the Nothing To Hide 2.0 forum, to be organised by Armada, on August 13.

Police had to be called in to disperse the crowd, which turned rowdy.

Armada information chief Ashraf Mustaqim said he was punched in the incident.

“Gangster culture and Umno can no longer be separated; they are one and the same. That’s why they are afraid of answering questions,” said Armada chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

“They are afraid of debates because their answers are invariably fists and verbal abuse.

“Don’t answer with punches, answer with words. See you at Nothing To Hide 2.0.”

The forum is a platform to answer questions raised by the people on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal.

Pakatan Harapan chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he would attend the forum. – July 26, 2017.
