DEWAN Rakyat Speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof today deferred a motion to refer Umno MP Bung Moktar Radin to Parliament’s Rights and Privileges Committee to the next meeting.

This was after Bung had agreed to apologise for the use of the F-word during a debate on August 7, said Ariff.

“According to Standing Order 100, I received a request from the Housing and Local Government Minister to cite Kinabatangan (Bung) to the Rights and Privileges Committee.

“However, Kinabatangan has agreed to apologise for using such words on August 7 and has agreed to also apologise openly in the Dewan Rakyat in the next meeting.”

He said Bung was not present at proceedings today as he had taken leave to attend to an urgent matter.

The motion was filed by Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin despite Bung apologising for using the F-word at Willie Mongin (PH-Puncak Borneo) who had asked if Bung was going to a casinohad gone to a casino.

The incident took place during the debate on the Sales Tax Bill last week.
