I'm still A-G, says Thomas

TOMMY Thomas has refuted a report that he has quit as attorney-general.
“Absolutely not. I will serve my term. These are false and dishonest rumours,” he told The Malaysian Insight today.
His remarks follow a report by Free Malaysia Today, quoting sources, that he has resigned from the post.
The article was pulled down mere minutes after it was published.
FMT then issued a retraction, saying its report on Thomas was based on sources who have since retracted their confirmation.
“We therefore withdraw the report unconditionally and apologise to the attorney-general.”
Thomas is under no illusion that not everyone wants him as attorney-general, or for the reforms promised by the Pakatan Harapan government to succeed.
As such, he is not surprised and unfazed by the backbiting and rumour-mongering, knowing that the Malaysian public views him and the Attorney-General’s Chambers as the front line of reforms.
His officers are burning the midnight oil, and there will be a clutch of charges brought against individuals involved in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal. – September 18, 2018.
