The Thais produced a dominating display in front of the packed Shah Alam stadium.
Malaysia returned in the second half looking to overturn the deficit but struggled to cope with Thailand’s counter attacks and fitness.
Malaysian fans who couldn’t make it to the stadium thronged the nearest mamak to watch the live telecast event.
